first we have opening of bids and bids to open for deicing and
Stevens Public Works Street Division and we sent out bids in August and we've received no bids back
So we did hear response from Cargill Compass Materials and Morton salt So we will go back with plan
B. You'll be hearing more from us Not ideal
There's been some issues with salt shortages throughout the Midwest. So And that is dealing with some
of the similar Situation that we are with trying to get bitters for the statewide GPA as well Good news
is right now our barns are full and we'll keep working on other avenues to hopefully Get something in

is title six abatements and we have a request for a continuous abatement at 2225 South High Street Good
evening, I'm Sean Hampton neighborhood compliance officer with housing and neighborhood development.
I Am seeking continuous abatement for excessive growth at the property of two
2225 South High Street This was previously abated in June and July by the former compliance officer
and I wrote my first citation on the 19th of August and was instructed to send it straight to abatement
due to the history in circumstances of the property All right, thank you questions from the board So
I am familiar with this property and recognized it from the previous
violations With the Abatements that happened over the course of the other summer months was that Part
of the continuous abatement that had been approved before and now we're entering into a new season August
1st was the reset date, okay?
Summary says that contact with mr. Adam indicated there would not be a possibility of compliance Can
you just tell us about what contact you have had with him and his response, please? I have personally
had no contact with the property owner It was the former neighborhood compliance officer for that area
that had the contact with him and he stated the property owner stated to that compliance officer that
he would not be mowing or taking care of the property due to health issues and

installed freestanding and mounted in place
They have been approved by the urban forestry department for the ones that will be hanging trees the
materials of these Lanterns are paper. So these are more of like crafts that will be hung and then there'll
be LED lights Within the metals to light them up. So that's the first installation and the second one
is a chalk installation of their
Logo of the lotus flower and it'll be used as more so wayfinding and that will be on the streets and

be bringing in a line from the transformer outside into a meter to the to the dual charger. This amount

This is to order a contractor agreement with milestone contractors for Liberty Drive. It's doing Liberty
Drive from West 3rd Street to the end of city maintenance. It will be milling fixing about eight nine
soft spots in the road will be resurfacing and then pavement markings reinstalled. They will the contractor
will also be working with in dot because of the traffic signal. The loops are on our side so I work
with them not to.
with their loops. So this is to a word of contract to milestone as they were the only better for one
hundred eighty six thousand five hundred fifty dollars. They are going to do this at night and we will
notify all businesses within that area to let them know ahead of time that this is going to be happening
and then we'll give them a date as soon as we have that confirmation.

maybe a little higher
And fortunately enough, we just had the one the one bit and I think it was very very competitive. So
I'm looking at the map of the portion on Liberty in city Boundaries, is there any talk with the county
about continuing on in their portion of it? Not not on this project on we have with a Kennedy Drive
We've reached out or the counties reached out to us were where we're We're paving something that that
that puts up to theirs, but not on that. No
And I believe the section that the county maintains between where ours leaves off on the northern boundary
to where we pick up on the southern boundary is pavement within the last five to six seven years probably.
So I don't know that theirs is ready for a fresh coat at this time. They did theirs between the sections
that we've gotten done. So it's one of those anomalies where we've got the northern section towards
Third Street and the southern section towards Second Street and the county's got the section in the middle.
And so but yeah, I don't believe there's a schedule ready for a new fresh code payment yet. That's helpful.

pretty extensively about earlier this summer with the lines that we're going towards the university
so that occurs there subcontractors some underground boring there by the library principle spoon and

Pedestrian and vehicular traffic will be maintained shifted or rerouted in accordance with the approved
maintenance of traffic plan Sidewalk closures will be limited to areas within the scope of their project
that do have sidewalks some parts of the neighborhood do some parts don't So that's how we're going
to handle that Traveling closures will only occupy one lane at a time starting at South bent Avenue
installing mains first then laterals and We'll have compliant temporary traffic control
I'm just curious about the petitioners as a subcontractor for Centerpoint. So it's okay. Yeah And Because
this neighborhood has intermittent sidewalks I know the there's the line that basically the access
Sidewalk will it will provide the most feasible and compliant sidewalk detour or closure. So in most
cases we would be looking at Something that would detour Like a pedestrian, right? So in a place where
there isn't an adjacent sidewalk to send them to will have to create there They have to create a diversion
So that would be a Pro Act compliant route around the work. So you could either send them into the street
protected or as long as it's level and the Whatever you use to create the pathway is compliant That's
fine. And that's kind of what I'll recommend for them in some cases, you know if there's only Two people
that may ever use the sidewalk and it would be too dangerous to create a diversion. We might just
You to close it, but I don't think that's what we would need. I think we could just do a diversion Okay
And most of these probably wouldn't be over 24 hours anyway in this case All right, is there a motion

So this is basically to me across the street from Bloomington High School South's soccer field there

some public improvements of sidewalk curb storm sewer system And add some new commercial drive entrances
as part of that project there These closures are proposed to take place September 14th through October

So this is gonna be a new car lot just an extension of the community group there And You gave us a range
of about a month But the actual closure will just be one week within that month and I assume one week

them fan Yo on Pete Ellis Drive Kyle ball engineering once again
So Bynum Vanyo is requesting Lane bike lane and some sidewalk closure on Pete Ellis Drive We talked
a bit about this last session with some clarifications. So this is part of a private development of
the former Pizza Hut location there off Pete Ellis and this is going to be a tie-in that was required
by CBU that will be performed by a private subcontractor for the project not by CBU and
which would run this new train system essentially from that Pizza Hut, former Pizza Hut location over
into East Third Street. So all the improvements were deemed appropriate and necessary by CBU upon the
review of the project proposal. They are requesting the third and fourth week of October to be this
two-week time span. There might be some shift there, a few days here or there.
But that gives us plenty of time to make sure that they're notifying all the adjacent properties I know
there's lots of there's housing density in that area that would be affected by this So a three-day sidewalk
closure and then a two-week lane closure where we'll actually be shifting traffic and utilizing those
Bike lanes that are on the east and west side of the street there to merge that traffic and shift everything
over To allow for this work to take place Thank you
So two lanes will be maintained it will just be shifting and bikes and vehicles will travel in the same

accessibility for folks that might use mobility devices, but otherwise no issues there. And still working
on some major construction projects, so South Walnut Street and
Third Street from Walnut to Indiana final phases of that project wrapping up with the striping today
tomorrow possibly into Friday. And so those will wrap up the Convention Center Third Street project
has a little bit of a delay so that may have a staff level extension waiting for some final information
on that one but working closely with what all to coordinate all of that. And yeah continuing with a
