Okay, it is nine o'clock. We are in order and present is Hopi Stasberg from District 3 and myself and
Claire Crossley, yeah, we're here. So, all right, what do we need to talk about? The only thing that
we have, I think originally I had scheduled this meeting because we needed to talk about the public
transportation board scenario, but that got taken care of last week. So really the only thing that you have
Um, you still always will have, um, the issues with BU EA and trying to find somebody. It's just not
a thing that's working, but you do have one thing, which is the commission on the status of black males
to do resign back in July. There is one application, justice Felton and, um, Crystal, who is the liaison
for wrote yesterday that she highly recommended this individual.
And he apparently in 2021 won the outstanding leaders of tomorrow. So, Oh yeah. I remember him justice.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And so that's it. That's literally it. Are you happy to appointment? Yeah. I looked
at his application and it looks great. So I'll move that we appoint justice Belton to CC two on the
commission on the status of black man. That will happily second. Okay.
And as much makes, which makes it irrelevant to call for votes, but we have to do it totally in favor.
Okay. So I will put this in the packet. Um, are they okay with that timing? Do we like, you're good.
There's no, it's October 14th. Exactly. So they, they should be a special session to actually keep us from, um,
But yeah, that's, other than that, I'm looking at all the rest of the things. You all are. That's,
that's it. No, I had a thought just reminding me after this meeting. It doesn't relate to this meeting.
Um, I'm just scrolling through just, I'm like, I looked at your spreadsheet like five times this morning
and make sure. No, you guys are literally good. That's so awesome.
We've been very efficient this year. I really appreciate it. Thank you very much. Yeah. And I think
it also helps to hopefully the other colleagues can maybe do this in the future too. Like the liaison
part where if somebody's talking and as an individual and then you can either come back to this meeting
or in council, like that really moves things a lot faster. Before we go though,
Uh, in terms of the public transportation board and move from five to seven. Yeah, I reached out. So
at their last meeting, they also discussed that and I'm not sure that there's like clarity on both sides
about how exactly to do it.
Um, they seem to be under the impression that they can do it independently of counsel. Yes, we have
to change title to. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's exactly what we have. So I sent an email to,
so they, so James and Nancy ended up, but they're all important.
Well, no, they ended up being like the subcommittee or whatever they want to call it, like the working
group to work on that. So I had messaged them to try to get in touch with them to talk about it. And
I had staff of, I can't remember which fellow anymore, put together like a little summary of pros and
cons. That's that and the other thing. Okay, cool.
And so, I am generally supportive, like, I think that my only concern really is how difficult it might
be to find another Republican and so and that is one of the one of the.
challenges on that list and just making sure to find people to serve. But I also mentioned it in the
CCP meeting, and they were also like, yeah, pursue that in terms of the research and see what happens.
We have another one this meeting next week. I'm hoping to get in touch, like to be able to meet with
James and Nancy. Well, most other
Cities have that size? Yes, that have this kind of public transportation corporation and several changed
to seven members in the last, I can't remember how many years because I don't have that. I also think
that thinking ahead, it was mentioned multiple times and it seems like the necessary
Outcome in some point in the future is that are you and BT are going to do something, right? It seems
appropriate. It seems right. Like, it seems like the right thing. And so it makes sense then also in
that context to have a larger board and.
Well, the other thing that they mentioned at that meeting was because we've expanded to outside of city
limits and transit is not as much. So then there's this potential need for greater collaboration within
county and Alexville. And so, and right now,
I can't remember right now whether code limits those numbers to within the city limits or not, but that
is another element of how we should think about this in terms of that greater collaboration. That's
a whole nother element. That actually does remind me. Because that makes me less worried about the finding
a person if we were to change it to be.
The other thing might be within the urbanized area, because then that mimics MPO language. Yeah. Yeah.
I'd be really happy to agree with those things. Yeah. So anyway, that's kind of just like the train
of research that I'm going down to think about. Very exciting. Very excited. I think we're good right now.
I just have to meet with all these folks and like CCP, it kind of, you know, it's falling under. That's
