of America. The new republic for which it stands, one nation, ungod, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. I have the honor of becoming for you again this evening. We thank you so much for this little town. We thank you to our four board members as they come together to support the uh part four to this faction. We thank you for Ricky who has to be with us through all of our arduous efforts to send you the same. Amen. Yes. Yes. Oh, I mean, Kelly's. What's what you're I'm here. Okay, review of accounts payable. We don't have any tight minutes for the last couple of weeks. Just really trying to work that out. So you've looked at some of the normal things up at Entertainment Motion to prove the accounts payable. All right. There you go. Who means what? I'll say it. And Kate. I'll motion. Kate motions. And Emily second. Roll call, Ronnie. Jim McGirr? Yes. Ron Nader? Yes. Katie? Yes. Emily? Yes. Okay, passes. Yeah, I brought a copy of the organizational plan. Emily's had a little chance to look through it. Next time, I'll bring a copy for everybody. I think It looks to me like a well-done report. Of course, I was involved a little bit in the public safety part of it. Parks, I think they're going to stay at five board members. So we'll just have to see what happens after November, whether it goes through or not, and find out how we're going to let the record show that Laura Hale is here. Sorry. It's so bad trying to get from that stuff. Any idea when they're going to be done with that? At the end of the year. Probably not. We have just reviewed the accountants payable. And it was 4.0. We won't make it 5.0. That's yes. OK. Noted. I got an organizational plan here that you can look at. It says draft. I think it's pretty well what to put in. But I'll bring a copy for everybody next time just to make sure we have what's going on. Parks board secretary, we're rushing up, patching it together. Leah's gonna help me with the agenda and notifying you all. And thanks for your response today. I guess it worked pretty good. Everybody's here. pretty well direct contact with Kate. As soon as I say we're gonna have a meeting, I saw Zach over. Yeah, he said you have a parks board meeting, so I said, okay. If Leah can't do something, let me know. Okay. And I'll be a backup. Okay. However you like. Thank you, Ronnie. Appreciate it. The memorial service, I'm gonna turn the memorial service over to the Jill Thurman in the chamber and the other committee downtown, Elstville there. participate as a deal through them, because I'm just winding down. So our next meeting is June the 1st, 2026. Is there any comment from the board members? Laura? No. Ronnie? No. Kate? None. No. Ricky? Going to be off a short meeting. You want to talk a little bit? I guess, other than just to say I... Explain what you're going to do. I sort of owe people an apology, I think. It's just that I really would like to do more things, but with that fair thing, I mapped it out and I realized, gee, I need about 10 or 12 volunteers. There's no way I'm going to get that number of people to do something. So I need to start thinking smaller things or things that I can pull off that's just me or maybe one or two people. You know, I'm still trying to, my neighbor, the, who's golf, head of golf for DePaul, I think he just did the, the conference championships. He had one girl qualified to go to the NCAA because she's ranked like 17th in the country. So that's in two weeks. So when that's done, his season will be over. And he told me that he would be a golfer. I could pull that off just myself. So things like that, you know, where I can just, do it myself. And so I just do it myself. I know Jimmy and I had this discussion in my head. I was just going to say, you know what? I just can't really devote myself to this like I want to. But then I realized that the race would not happen in that instance. And I don't want to race. Because people are, I think they like to race. I get bigger numbers every year. And this year, I've already lined up chip timing. That will even draw even more people. because I had a little issue with getting the results and some things with not doing chip climbing. But I know that was also next for people. And then when I talked to Jill Vance, I don't know if you're supposed to say this or not, but I don't see why you can't. She told me that the board for the Mag 7 series had decided that our race was their secret gym race in the series. So people who run our race get extra points. people who run all those races throughout the series, the more races they run, the more points they get, and then they get something they can get some reward at the end. So they're gonna give extra points to people who run our race, because I think Joe likes to race. That's definitely a tribute to you. You have done a wonderful job. Yeah, so I'm definitely, I'm already starting to prepare for that. Like this year, I made two signs today. Nice, circular-sized stand-up. So I can put a sign out there. Don't park in people's state. Unless I talk to them and kind of talk to them and say, Hey, would you let us can we have half the parking? Yeah, I mean, I don't think it really kept them from having. So stuff like that. So if I could pull some other stuff off. I will, I mean, there's another thing I'd like to do, like a superstars thing, but that's, again, it would take a lot of people to help me out. And if you guys can tell me where you think I can get volunteers from, please let me know. I don't know if I could post something. I know, do they still have that Main Street thing that they do? Yeah, that's the other Main Street. Do they have volunteers that sign up for volunteer work? Yeah, they have some in their committee. Like, Jill's a part of that too, Jill Thurmond. See, they got a committee, though. Yeah. People who join that, and then the people who are part of that, they can volunteer. But I don't have that. There's no LSBell Sports Club. committee or membership or something, I don't know. I know what you mean, because I have a hard time with volunteers for the moral service every year. And then the last thing is that they took all my stuff out of that office that used to be the playing department and put it upstairs up there in the crate. So they took the printer and just had it on top of something in the crate. I was worried about it getting damaged. So I took it out and took it home. until you give me some place so I can put it, because I don't want that printer to get damaged. It's a nice printer. And then I went through that crate and I took a bunch of the supplies, our two floors and fours that I had and took it to my house and that's where I didn't work until this week and last week. The science cut stuff out. So when I get those done, I also have a bunch of science over there. like my mileage markers and stuff like that, that's still in that crate up there. So do you have a place that I can store stuff other than upstairs and above that new office, that utility building? Well, I'll have to think about it. I'm not sure, I guess. Does it have to be secure? No. I'm just going to want the model marker signs and stuff. You don't care about that. I mean, it's just valuable, other than that printer. Yeah, let me look at it. I'll see if we can find some place in the police department for it to put it. storage area across in the old planning? Is it in use? Oh, no, they're, they're keeping that open for a reason. The, the storage room. Oh, I don't know. Is there storage over at that heritage building? Upstairs, yes. There is an upstairs up there? You want to pack it up there? You're probably gonna go get it again. So well, What do you want me to do with the printer thing? I'd like to have the printer back at the station. Where should we say station? Police station. All right, so I'll bring it over there tomorrow. Yeah, let's bring it over there and we'll store it over there. Let's make sure that- Yeah, because it should be sitting in that crate up here. No, it's probably not. I mean, it looks all right. It doesn't look like it was damaged or anything, but they had it thrown in there. Yeah, let's just put it over there and we'll take care of it there. And the last thing, one more thing, may I talk to you offline about the pickleball net? Yeah, we need to talk about that. Mike's been kind of distant. Of course, I was off all last week for my head injury, so. Well, there was a guy that called me about, well, when you were going to put the net up. And I said, well, I said, we're still trying to decide. So I explained him all the places he could play, like at Flat Rock, and Spencer Y, and Southeast, and all those places. RCA parking at, switch our parking at, but people were saying like in Flatwoods, it's kind of busy. So if you go there, there's people playing, you may not be able to get on the court there, but they have nice courts there at Flatwood. That's the reason we can't put them in it. Just having somebody being responsible for it. Well, the question I was asking Jamie is you could put it up and just leave it up. The problem was, You had every weekend, you had the music thing, I'd go take it down. Now, they're not having that. Then you had people renting the place. Now, I realize that during the music, you don't want that up there because people sit all over it. But like if they're renting it for a birthday party, that thing is so big, they don't need the whole thing. They can still have their birthday party at that end with the net up. Now, the only thing you run across is, I mean, there's a big sign up there that says no bicycles, blah, blah, blah, blah, into the shelter. But you know, somebody like riding a bicycle into that net and getting hurt or something like that. I mean, I guess you have the liability issues. But you have that with anything. People can get hurt. So I mean, I could put it up and just leave it up. But the only problem is that when it rains, I never really, you know, you do something, you don't realize the stuff that could happen. But when it rains, that gets all soggy down in there. and dirt and mud run down to that court. And it gets really, really, you can see the court, but it needs a good scrubbing and power washing and cleaned up or repainted. I repainted it last year because it gets kind of yucked up because of overflow and mud coming up because the water seeps down in there. But I could put it up and just leave it up if you think that would be okay. It's in that utility building. behind the bathrooms at RCJ. You know that little utility room back there? I put them against the wall way in the back there. Now the neck needs to be fixed because that crank, the gears inside that crank and tightening that, that metal is so soft. I don't know why they manufacture it that way. The gears, you can't really tighten it. So I can kind of, I can redo that net. I can take that what they've got in there and I can put something else in there. I can make it work. Have you heard anything about the new nets that they're coming out that are basically stationary? They're like a fence that you can leave them up year round? I haven't seen that. Yeah, I've seen it a couple places. But then you'd have the question, do you want to leave it up all during the summer? carry it or not. I mean, that would be the question you'd have to have. I don't think it would last very long. Katie, what do you think? I don't see why it would be a problem. I mean, just leave it up. If you... I can do that. I can get it set up. And I can try to... I bought a scrub brush. You scrub before with. And I have a power brush of my own. I could go down there and I can try to power wash that cord off, clean it up. And I can put the net up and just leave it up. Emily? I mean, I think it's fine to just leave it up. Just people want to go play. They just want to go play. If they see it up all the time, they don't realize it. Ronnie, what do you think? I think it needs to be up. We'll just have to deal with it. OK, so I'll go down here and I'll clean it off. If you need handling that, I'll give you my number. I'll handle it. OK. I think I can get it up all right. It's just I'm going to have to put some kind of, I'll have to restring that through the net. I can get it. Get it up, get it tight. That's not a problem. The issue is whether or not you want it up or not. So I'll get it up. I'll get the chord playing. I'll get it up. I'll get townspeople want to play pickleball, and we've got a chord that needs to be up. And you know where you had to sign up for all the concerts that were during? Yeah. Well, that sign's taken down. But those two posts are there. I think it would be. a good place that I could put up a piece of board that would kind of be like a community bulletin board and like do stuff I could post it up there or anybody could post stuff up there. How about that? Is that idea okay? I have a board I could. I got a leftover board for materials I've got that I could put up there, I'll paint it and people can tax stuff up there because why waste those two posts for? It's a perfect spot to have something there to put a notice on. Now, I just want to say to you, because I've been in this position of kind of give you about your own. The town has money to do some of this stuff. So don't rely on your own pocketbook. You're already paying taxes. All right? Yeah. That's why we have a budget. Yeah, I know. The major stuff I've turned in, I've turned in every single thing because like I said, I'm not doing this because I want to help Ellis, but the big stuff I've turned in. I'm careful about my time too. I still keep an exact record of everything I do. If you want to see that, I got a notebook, it's there. I also have money in that. account that I have from the race that I have plenty of money in there too that I could, I mean that was a purpose that I think even last year when I, you know, when you start to sign up for the race there's a description thing there and it describes a lot and that's where you put, oh it's gonna be chip timing this year and then I think I put in there that any money left over after proceeds is going to support Ellisville sports activities. So, you know, so that's why that money, and I think I got about $2,000 from the prior races, I think. So that's why I can afford chip timing this year and all that. So if I get to where I have 200 people, I'll have plenty of money to do stuff. Well, we really appreciate what you've done for us, and I understand fully I'm sorry. I just got a little discouraged there for a while. And you know, you get old, you get tired. And it's like, you know, the seawall at my lake house is now collapsed. I got to replace 70 foot of that. And it's like, oh gosh, how many more things can you do when you're 70 years old? You know, it's like, you know, got less time when I was working. You know what I'm saying? We've got three weddings coming up, three reception or practice, what do they call them? Rehearsal. Rehearsal dinners? Yeah, three of those coming up to the house. We've got a lot going on too. That's one reason I felt like I had to give some stuff up. You don't have baby showers yet? I have two baby showers. No, two wedding showers. I'm sorry. It's all out of the same family and all three of them are saying I'm going to have the first baby. I think the town of Elstville should be proud of the town. Oh, yeah. Sounds pretty nice. We've got things going, you know. That woman on Wednesdays, it gets on there with glass. She says, oh, Ellisville's the place to be now. You know what I mean? She's on the board for the town of Bloomington, I think. And she was complimenting Ellisville even on her before. She won a few. And the Trojan horses coming over here. Yeah, that's right. The Trojan horses coming over. That's right. Now is they gonna close down in Bloomington of Wonder? I don't know. I read that they aren't. They aren't gonna close? She lives on Union Valley Road. So they're older guys? No, I didn't know that. They came up with a name for this park. We ought to come up with a name for that park. You wanna do what? I said we need to come up with a name for that park. If I can remember, I'll try to ask. A lot of people have asked me, what's the name of that park? and I said, well, town hall park right now. But that's something that maybe the town board can come up with, make a recommendation or whatever. What day is your race on? It's always the third Saturday in September, so it's the 19th. It's the old festival weekend. I already picked out my shirt colors at night out, and I already got that going, so. Okay, hang up. Is there a motion for dismissal? I'll make a motion. Second. Okay. Got you. Ronny? Laura? Yes. Senator? Yes. Emily? Yes. All right. Thanks for coming. We'll see you next time. June the 1st is the next meeting.
