All right, the October meeting of the rural county election board is called to order. The election central update is our first thing. Sorry, ma'am. You're fine. So for our current absentee turnout as of right now, we are looking at 1348 total ballots that have been issued. 265 ballots have already been returned and 36 travel board requests have been received and travel board will begin on October 15th. The last day to turn in a application to vote by mail will be October 22nd. And I just wanted to do a little bit of compare and contrast from 2022 at this time versus now in 2022. We were at 1,271 that had been issued, 154 that had been returned, and zero travel board requests at that time. So we are seeing an increase currently from the 2022 election. In addition, I also wanted to give an update on voter registration totals currently. We are up to 76,238 active, 14,218 inactive, with a total of 90,456 registered voters. 536 are pending and 17 are incomplete. And then one last thing that's not on the agenda that I was able to get completed and wanted to go ahead and give you guys an update on is the legal notice of the general election has been sent and it will be published in the newspaper on Monday. The original deadline on that is October 18th and we are ahead of schedule on that. That's wonderful. Thank you. Mr. Kreider, we're ready to hear from you. Good afternoon, board members, Richard Crider, Monroe County Building and Fleet. I actually don't have a ton to update from our last meeting, but I will let you know that next week, this week and next week, I've got a delivery and setup scheduled for some kitchen equipment, refrigerator, new water cooler, the filter type, not the heavy bottle type. We'll be doing some work around the shoot, adding some parking lot signage to indicate what's reserved and what's available. And then just kind of addressing some smaller projects as we move along from needs that arise. And that's that's all I have for you this time around. Any questions? You're getting finished, right? In there. Good. Yeah. All right. Any anything from any of the board? Thank you, sir. All right. Thank you. Hey, we have new business. We need to schedule a special meeting for to approve Election Day workers. Who's your help? Ask workers and a resolution for use of the sheriff. One of the things that we have heard from the grapevine is October 5th at nine a.m. would work. Miss Molly, can you check or do you have wherewithal to check? Monday at 9 a.m. all right I don't mean to um if we had a meeting Monday at 9 a.m. I don't think you can meet the 48-hour notice rule okay then I guess we have a 9 a.m. and how about Tuesday at 9 a.m. check the availability of could that notice go out today, if Tuesday works? Yes. That would work for you? We will make it work, just like we made today work. I know Monday was better, but I've got you. So we were both looking at when the deadline will be for the party chairs to submit the names and appointments to the election board. Their deadline would be the 13th at noon. So I'm thinking we should probably try to just schedule a meeting that following week instead of trying to do on the 5th to give them until their deadline at least. So that'd be the week of the 12th and then I would suggest probably 14th, 15th, or 16th, or we could wait till the following week if needed. Okay, if we set the 19th, that's the following week. Look at your calendars. Do you have any? I'd rather do sooner than later. I'd rather not push up against that. So could we talk? The only thing that, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you. Go ahead, I thought you were done. Did we talk about Wednesday the 14th or Thursday the 15th? I'd prefer the Wednesday if possible. Wednesday, I have an 1130 appointment. How long should this take? I would think not very. No, it shouldn't. But we're also discussing about having them be appointed before training. So one thing that I could do is discuss with the chairs to see if they could get us there and vectors and judges. And we still hold the meeting on the 5th to approve those since training begins on the 6th. And then we'll come back that week later to approve the clerks and the sheriffs. since their training won't begin until the last two weeks of October. We can't do the fifth or can we do the fifth for this? Well, we the sixth would be what we have to do. Sorry. Yeah. OK. Oh, and nine a.m. would be fine because training doesn't start till one thirty. If we met on the sixth at nine o'clock, we could get some business that needs to be done. Done. Correct. Inspectors and judges. OK, with you. You too. OK, so the sixth meeting will be six to nine o'clock. Excuse us while we. this in, folks. Do we know if this room is free? I am still waiting on confirmation. It might just be quicker if I run into the office and ask. We will tentatively set. Oh, she took off. Okay. She's checking on the room. It was great awareness of me. She took off and I was typing and had no clue. Probably not a good sign. get the thumbs up from Molly. So our meeting will be October 6th at 9 a.m. right here to approve those people. Thank you, ma'am. I also checked on the 14th if you wanted to schedule that second meeting and the 14th is available all day. We're going to have to meet the things we may as well. Okay. Are you folks okay with morning? I have an 1130 appointment. I'm always okay with morning. Are you okay with with nine o'clock on that? We will also set that on a night. And just go ahead and post them all now. Yep. Oh, yes, absolutely. All right, so that takes care of what we need to from your office, correct, ma'am? We good then? We're okay. We've got those two. It's okay. All right. We move on to any public comment. I'm sorry. That was all together, wasn't it? Oh, I'm sorry. I thought that was all together. We have to do it those individually. So that was scheduling the meeting for those three following items. So that's going to be approving the Election Day workers doing the Hoosier Hall pass resolution and the resolution for sheriff. Those are those meetings. That's what I thought. OK, but that was a good catch. Go ahead. Ask questions. My chair wanted me to ask this. I don't know where this came from, but supposedly there were some updates to SVRS that showed voters. Been registered in Greene County, now in Monroe County, and again, I don't know what where this originated, but I was asked to find out if that has occurred. Yes. So the state did send out a list of addresses that were showing that they were in other counties. They were registered in other counties. But when going in and looking at the addresses, they actually should have been in a different county. So it wasn't just here. We didn't bring in just voters from Greene County. We also pulled in from Lawrence and I want to say Brown as well and Owen. So Every single county received a list of registered voters who were registered in one location, but that address had showed up in another county. We went through and did the voter cleanup to ensure that they were registered in the correct counties. Do you have any sense of how many additional voters Monroe captured versus how many we lost? I will say we didn't lose very many and majority of them were registered in other counties that should have been registered here. So we did increase a little bit. But I want to say our total list was approximately 15 to 20 names. So OK. Yeah. And then also with early voting starting next Tuesday in the past there's been the clerk has been in ads and stuff. Is that going to be happening this year? What's going on with the advertising? We have a radio advertisement. When we worked out the radio, we did it for both the primary and the general. Okay. Thank you. Now I guess we're ready for any public comment. Motion to adjourn. Second. Those in favor, aye. Aye. Motion. We will see you on the 6th, which is not very far from now, so. Yeah. Thank you, folks.
