Learn Monroe County. If you don't learn, then you're gonna die. We're here at Bloomington Collective, and I'm in tights. Check this out. We're here at Bloomington Yoga Collect, that's the name. That's the name. Bloomington Yoga Collective, and my, what a beautiful studio this is. This is, they brought these in from South America. Gorgeous. It's amazing. We're here with Wyatt Kenley, and sometimes we high five when we hang out with each other. Wyatt, hi. So tell me a little bit about yoga. What is yoga? Yoga means to join. It's like a union between mind and body. Like marriage but with yourself. Yes, that's exactly it. Yeah, you're marrying two parts of yourself. Because I always thought of myself as three separate entities, right? There's my body, there's my mind, and there's a little ghost that travels behind me and judges everything. You need some yoga. I think I need some yoga. So how long, you're an instructor, how long have you been instructing for? 2018, it's about six years. Six years? We'll call it seven years. It's a lucky number. That's right. Downward Face Dog and Warrior. Yes. And maybe a couple others I haven't heard of. The most important thing though is your breath. So Wyatt, Wyatt's going to teach us yoga. And what are, what are, like, what are, how do you start yoga? The most important thing to start yoga. Yes. Is centering. Meaning, find your breath. Right, so we're going to come to a child's pose position. What is finding your breath? It means being aware of your breath and being aware of you being in the moment and not acknowledging how much you wanted to crash out during the day. So it's like a mindfulness thing. It's mindfulness. I like that. I try to practice mindfulness. And also, I do meditation. Is there a connection at night? At night? Before I sleep. You meditate before you sleep? Yes. Just lying there? You can take a nice deep breath in through your nose and open mouth, exhale if you could. Full breath in and exhale. Just be vulnerable. Just let it go. Last time, full breath in and just know that you were always loved as a child and always will be. You like that? We're going to slowly get to rise up to a table top position, bringing your shoulders over to your knees. Nice and neutral spine here. Do you feel that support from the ground beneath you? Yes, it's there. I want you to spread those fingers wide. Now, we're going to find a cow pose. You're going to pull the heart forward, pull the shoulders away from the ears, and try not to, like, tense so much. You're going to stay at the position. You feel those legs turn on. Bring those feet together. Okay. Bring those arms up overhead. Bring those palms together overhead. Bring your gaze up toward those palms. Take a deep breath in and then exhale. Bring those palms down to heart center. I want you to find an intention for your practice today. Take a moment. If you want to share your intention, you certainly can. I want to learn yoga. That's a good intention. Inhale. And then exhale forward and just hang nice and heavy here. Letting the weight work on your shoulders, your neck, your back, your feet, your crack. I can do that. Sometimes my cousin tells me to work my **** out. Is he gay? No, she's uh, I think she's queer in some regard I think. Keep those hips high, keep those heels low. And sometimes hold there. We do this thing called a hands on assist. I want you to press your foot into my hand. Press harder. Harder. Harder. And then exhale. Send that knee forward and press that foot between the hands. Find the low lunge here. Beautiful, Ethan. How do you feel? Do you feel relaxed? I'm sort of like, my body and mind are a lot wired. And that's what happens at Bloomington Yielding Collective. That's right. So curl that toe. Excellent. Keep that left knee lifted. standing lunge here, crescent lunge or high lunge, how do you want to identify this pose? I'm breathing, right? I hear it, it's great, great. Keep those hips neutral, I don't see those hips neutral. What does that mean? The original. Yeah. And what is it about? It's about centering. And the breath. And finding your breath. It's the original exercise. It's the Snoop Dogg exercises. It's the Yo Double G. This has been yoga at the Bloomington Yoga Collective with Wyatt McKinley. He's leaving soon, so get your butts in there. I can see it. Absolutely. Let's go back to the studio. Thanks, Ethan. Thank you, Wyatt, and thank you, Bloomington Yoga Collective. We know each other. That's right. Yeah. We don't gotta be weird. That's true. All right.
